Steven’s Story

When asked why I joined White Lodging, there is a very long answer. I have tried to answer it many times in a condensed version. Simply said, it was the perfect combination of the right position being available at the same time that I was looking to move. This was combined with an amazing phone interview with Steve Ransone, who at the time was the Director of Human Resources. I knew of White Lodging from living in Indiana, but I really wanted to join White Lodging after that interview. A different and more telling question is, “Why have you stayed with White Lodging?” Again, there are so many great answers, but after having worked in the food side of restaurants, hotels, and resorts for 21 years (prior to joining White Lodging) and having ample basis for comparison, this is absolutely the best hotel company out there and I appreciate what I have. I sometimes mention to new associates that while our company may not be “glamorous”, it’s real while also being prestigious.

This hotel is special and so are the people I’ve been allowed to work with over the years. I’ve always been surrounded by amazing leadership and associates that have either allowed me or pushed me to be my best (personally and professionally). This leadership has also been merciful when I wasn’t my best. I’ve also always been made to feel that my work had value. It’s not just this hotel though…..it’s company-wide. Having worked many of the GM’s Conferences, there is an exciting and contagious energy that radiates out and down to the property level. My belief is that when you’re fortunate enough to work in this kind of environment you’ll shine greatly and achieve your own success.
