
After graduating from Purdue University, I joined White Lodging as a Front Desk Manager in Ft. Wayne, IN. I have had the opportunity to work in a number of hotels throughout the country, and have grown a great deal since that first position.
I attribute my success within WL to three things. First, I have been surrounded by a variety of strong leaders with different management styles that I could learn from. WL creates a culture of training/educating its managers with a focus to daily improvement.
The second piece contributing to my success has been in applying the knowledge I have obtained from my mentors to the daily operations of my properties. From my mentors’ influence, I have realized that if I can create the same culture for my managers that I learned from my mentors, and focus to improving them daily, ultimately teaching them to be more successful then in return I will be more successful.
Lastly, between my willingness to move and get results, our leaders have given me several opportunities to prove myself. Without opportunity I would not have success.
My next goal is to cross back over into Full Service and continue to gain knowledge in leading sales as well as learning more about F&B.
I am very passionate about developing associates to reach their full potential so the more leaders/managers I have working for me the greater influence and impact I can have within WL.
