Alex’s Story

White Lodging was just as unfamiliar a place as Colorado was when I first joined the company. I took my first job with the company as a leap of faith on an eighteen month internship from Canada in December of 2002.

Returning for my second internship to the State of Colorado, the Renaissance Boulder Suites Hotel was in the right area and fit the style and quality of what I was looking for. I was immediately struck by the leadership, focus and drive of those around me and was swept up in the enthusiasm and desire for success.

A member of the Renaissance team for eight years now, I have been a part of an award winning team that has garnished many awards from the brand and beyond year after year. In 2006 after four years of dedicated service to my restaurant, property, company, and community, I graciously received Renaissance Hotels and Resorts International’s Award of Culinary Excellence for Chef of the year. In 2007 I was chosen by White Lodging as Food and Beverage Back of the House manager of the year.

I am currently focused towards the recruitment and development of new culinary managers to aid in the future growth of food and beverage within White Lodging.

White Lodging is where careers are made. Looking back on eight years of service, I strongly believe that I would not be performing at the level that I am today without having had the ability to reach my career aspirations so rapidly with White Lodging.
